I originally wrote this essay for a class I took at The University of Toledo in the Fall of 2012. I was inspired to post this by this article in the New York Times today (September 17, 2013)
Editor’s Note: I had originally started to paste the contents of my essay in as HTML, and stalled on the craptastic job it was turning into. Hence, I obliviously didn’t get it posted back in 2013. Doing so today (2021-11-24) to clean up some pending stuff on my blog, and to get these ideas out there for debate.
